8. Nucleus
directs the activity of a cell; it contains chromosomes with the DNA
Nuclear Membrane: separates the nucleus from the cytoplasm

9. Cytoplasm
a gel-like material inside the cell; it contains water and nutrients for the cell

10. Cell Membrane
forms the outer boundary of the cell and allows only certain materials to move into or out of the cell

11. Mitochondria
- break down food and release energy to the cell

12. Vacuole
storage areas for the cell

13. Ribosome
Round particle composed of RNA and protein and are the site of protein synthesis.

14. Golgi Apparatus
composed of layers of flattened sacs that process proteins and moves some of them out of the cells

15. Endoplasmic Reticulum
manufactures, process, and transports chemical compounds for use inside and outside of the cell

16. Lysosome
An organelle containing digestive enzymes that can break down many things in cells.
