1.Liberty of expression:(article 10)
Intensification of liberty of expression and other political and civil rights ( in 2015) A law against sedition was approved and also one to prevent terrorism. After the approvement of this laws police and authorities found like an excuse to be more violent and arrest more people. An example of this happened in 2015 when three journalists were arrested because an article that they published. This article talked about a project of law that included corporal punishments.

2.Right to peaceful assembly and association(article 20)
Through the years laws have been created and used against people who organized pacific protests or took part in them. Those people are accused of “being damaging for the parliamentary system” and some of them are arrested. The law gives the minister of home issues the right to declare any protest illegal and cancel it.

3.Police abuse and impunity
Policemen torture and are very violent with people that are in jail or in custody and sometimes these acts end with a death. The home minister Ahmad Zahid promised to settle cameras in all places of police detention, even though 10 deaths were registered in 9 months since he said that. Malaysian citizens are asking for a committee to receive complains about the behaviour of the police and to sanction the ones that do not do their job well.
