2 History 1787 Founded by Hugh Henry Brackenridge in 1787, originally named Pittsburgh Academy. 1830 In 1830, the University moves into a large building on Third St. in downtown Pittsburgh. 1909 Later in 1909, Pitt adopts its team mascot, the panther.

Meals roll over into the next semester if you maintain the same meal plan you had the previous semester. Dining facilities are open when undergraduate classes are in session with the exceptions of Thanksgiving and Winter break.

12 Academics Being Placed on Academic Probation (AP)- results in academic suspension, attend a mandatory meeting with the Director of Student Mentoring. Most Popular Majors: Business Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services, Health Professions and Related Programs, Social Sciences, Engineering and Psychology.
