2 Personal Goal Statement
In my mathematics classroom, I will strive to engage and challenge all students, to encourage inquisitive and creative thinking, and to cultivate learners who persevere in problem solving and who express their mathematical thinking confidently and clearly. Mrs. Schultz Union Middle School

3 Background Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from SJSU with mathematics authorization. 15th year teaching 2nd year at Union Middle School Taught Math Intervention Class to 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students at Lietz Elementary School Taught 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades Married with two sons, both of whom attended Union Middle School.

Cooperative Learning Problem based learning Spaced Practice Materials: Online ebook Toolkit Composition notebook for classwork and homework (provided) Go Math (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt)

6 Grades 2 components: Tests and Quizzes: 60% Homework/classwork: 40%
Grades will be posted on PowerSchool.

7 Homework Homework will be posted on classroom website.
Weekly homework will be recorded in planner on Mondays. Classroom website includes link to CPM ebook. Students have been provided with username and password to access CPM ebook. CPM ebook includes “homework help” links.

8 Homework Grading Students will correct homework in class.
Complete, corrected homework is worth 10 points. Any missing homework will receive a temporary “0” in PowerSchool. Late homework must be handed in by the following Friday for 7 points. Friday afternoon detention of 30 minutes will be mandatory to complete any missing assignments. If a student is absent, the due date will be extended by the number of days absent, for full credit.

9 Test Corrections Any test score below 70% will need to be corrected for a maximum score of 70%. Any remaining errors will decrease the score. A parent signature is required. Test corrections can be handed in at any time before the end of the quarter.

Khan Academy (link on website) Common Core practices and standards (link on website) Math Clinic Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 8:05 with Mrs. Reynolds (Room 23). Homework Center Monday - Thursday 3 pm- 4:30 pm. Permission slips available on school website under Student Support tab.
