Each Base Camp is designed to meet the instructional needs of your child. Children will be regularly re-assessed to determine if they are progressing as expected. Third Grade Retention Bill
MCL f: Deficiency is defined in the law as “scoring below grade level, or being determined to be at-risk of reading failure based on a screening assessment, diagnostic assessment, standardized summative assessment, or progress monitoring.” Students who fit this criteria in third grade will be retained in third grade How do we prevent this?
10
Individualized Reading Plan
IRP: Individualized Reading Plan October: if your child's assessments show that they are at-risk in the area of reading we will implement an IRP. This will be closely monitored by teaching staff, Mr. Bulgrin and our school support team. IRP Components: At home reading program, parental attendance at regular conferences/meetings, participation in comprehensive ELA program (Journeys), participation in prescribed interventions Students can be placed on an IRP at any time as their assessments and growth are reviewed.
