Legislative they make the laws Executive they carry out the laws Judicial judge laws & interpret constitution

Conservative How they do things: believe in personal responsibility
limited government free markets individual liberty traditional American values and a strong national defense

Liberal How they do things:
believe in government action to achieve equal opportunity – equality for all protect civil liberties and individual and human rights

Propaganda Techniques
Bandwagon- makes himself look like a winner Glittering Generalities- using symbol, signs, songs, etc; to stand out Testimonial- a celebrity supports a candidate Plain Folks- a candidate makes himself look like a regular person Name Calling- saying negative things about another candidate Card Stacking- present one side of the story

-choose a candidate to represent party in presidential election -indirectly choosing delegates National conventions Officially choose candidate to president party Adopt Party Platform -overall views of the party
