Today, I have the unique opportunity to tell you about how I use music in the classroom. I hope you all find the information in this presentation helpful for your own classes.

Pre-teach vocabulary and grammar

Provide Japanese lyrics (in some situations)
Teach a culture point
Christmas songs
Moana – How Far I’ll Go – Feminism
Bring instruments to class!
If you sing at the beginning of the class:
Singing builds student energy
If you sing at the end of the class:
Class ends on an energetic note
Students have something to look forward to
You can cancel the singing

Difficulty of English
Difficulty of singing
Popularity
* Be careful with lyrical content
