Data is a collection of raw facts and figures that haven't been processed yet. It can be numbers, words, measurements, observations or even just descriptions of things.
raw facts and figures means without meaning. It should not be possible to understand what the letters and figures stand for. E.g. BAT45&&7, 478GH89”.
Data can be alphanumeric characters (letters & numbers), sound or graphics. But data basically has no meaning.
Data Can Be Qualitative or Quantative Qualitative data is descriptive information (it describes something)
Quantitative data, is numerical information (numbers).

Quantitative data, is numerical information (numbers), it can also be Discrete or Continuous:
Discrete data can only take certain values (like whole numbers) Continuous data can take any value (within a range). But simply Discrete data is counted and continuous data is measured.
