Prime Factorization: Finding which prime numbers multiply together to equal a particular number We factor these prime numbers out using a factor ladder, or we can use a factor tree

Since 1 is neither prime nor composite, we do not use 1 in our factor string List the numbers from LEAST to GREATEST Numbers that occur more than once can be shown using exponents
