9th Grade Milestone EOC Results Paulding County High School
The first test that is given to ninth graders every year is the Math section of the EOC was the last year that Coordinate Algebra was taught. The state switched to Algebra 1 in You can tell by these results that Algebra one did much better than Coordinate Algebra. Coordinate Algebra was taught many years and teachers were able to nail down some of the standards, however the students still preformed better on a new course. PCHS out preformed the state in 2016 verses 2015.

9th Grade Milestone EOC Results Paulding County High School
The second test that is given the ninth graders is always the Biology EOC, followed by the 9th grade Literature and Composition EOC. Neither of these test were changed due to curriculum change like math was. PCHS had the highest failure rate for both of these subjects and test in the county. However they matched the states failure rate in 2015 with 9th lit.
9
10th Grade Milestone EOC Results Paulding County High School
The only test given to the 10th graders is Analytic Geometry. PCHS had a dramatic change from 2015 to 2016 in a positive way. There was a 18% drop in failure rates. Even though PCHS was still in the highest percentage in the county and had a higher failure percentage than the state, they improved a large amount within their own school. This is a great start.
10
11th Grade Milestone EOC Results Paulding County High School
PCHS did well in both of these testing areas. The 11th graders out preformed the county and state in US History, both years. This is a wonderful bragging right for PCHS. Other departments need to find out what is going on in the history classrooms that they could implement in their own, in hopes of seeing these results. Students also did well in the American Literature and Composition both years. They out preformed the state and county in 2015 and tied the state in a low failure rate for 2016.

11th Grade Milestone EOC Results Pauldling County High School
11th graders need help in the area of Physical Science. The students did preform better in 2016 than in 2015 however, not good enough. These are the same students who took the US History exam and did well. There has to be a gab between the teachings and studies of the science classes versus the history classes. The whole county did poorly in 2015 but were able to come back 13% in 2016.
12
12th Grade Milestone EOC Results Paulding County High School
The only EOC that seniors have to take is Economics. They out preformed the county and state in 2015 but only outperformed the state in There was a 4% difference between the county and school.

Area of Concern: Biology
Biology is a major concern for the 9th grade class at Paulding County High School. The students did preform better in 2016 than they did in 2015, but they still have a lot of work ahead of them. More students were in the distinguished category in 2016 as well.
14
Area of Concern: Physical Science
Physical Science is the 2nd area of concern for the 11th grade classes at Paulding County High School. If students are doing poorly in 9th grade on the Biology EOC, then something needs to be fixed before they make it to 11th grade and have to preform on another state test. The science department as a whole needs to figure out interventions they can put in place to help all students preform better on these assessments.
15
Area of Strength : US History
US History gets the gold metal at Paulding County High School. They did great both school years that were compared but did the best in All they need to do is tweak their teaching just a bit in order to have a 100% pass rate. These teachers need to lead a few profession developments to help other departments see what is important in preparing the students for a state test.
16
Summary In 2011, PCHS was labeled as a needs improvement school and was given the School Improvement Grant, SIG, which is federally funded. Once the three years of this grant were up, the school has continued to see improvements each year. The US History and Algebra 1 scores were well above average in the past year for PCHS. With a change in curriculum from the state, the school has also seen improvements. PCHS needs to focus on their science scores more than ever. Both major areas of weakness were in this subject area. How you might ask? Continual professional learning and training for the science department needs to happen. What other areas need to have focus that could possible help with the science scores?
