1 Synthesizing When you use synthesizing you look at the parts of text and pull them together. Your main goal is to learn how they affect reading together. Synthesizing is like a jigsaw puzzle. You piece together different parts of reading into a whole picture.

When reading nonfiction you connect into a picture that makes sense. For example with a story you are interested in finding subject and facts about it: What ,who ,when ,were ,why and how. Your main goal is to pull all of those together into a clear picture.
