2. PA Region 13 Task Force Mission
Prepare the 14 counties and the City of Pittsburgh for a regional response to terrorist attack involving Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosive (CBRNE), threats, technological hazards, and natural disasters using the regional concept.

3. PA Region 13 Task Force
Region 13 is comprised of emergency responders who are effectively organized, properly trained, and well-equipped to implement incident command and unified command within the context of an all hazards approach.

4. PA Region 13 Task Force History Created in 1998
Started with 12 counties and City of Pittsburgh
Added Mercer County in 1999
Added Venango County in 2015

5. PA Region 13 Task Force Mission Areas
Mutual aid and intergovernmental agreements to respond to CBRNE events, chemical emergencies, and other man-made and natural disasters.
Establish an interoperable communications system within the region.
Develop a specialized equipment resource pool to be utilized throughout the region.

6. PA Region 13 Task Force Mission Ares:
Ensure that specialized training is available.
Enhance standardization across the region by applying, as a group, for grant funding related to equipment, training, and initiatives that cross jurisdictional boundaries.
Develop a Regional Response and Intelligence Protocol and procedures.

7. PA Region 13 Task Force
Acts as the Pittsburgh Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) Urban Area Work Group (UAWG) and includes the Pittsburgh Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) in its planning structure.
Allegheny County acts as fiduciary for the task force.

The Regional Staff is made up of a Program Director, Equipment Manager, Training and Exercise Coordinator, Finance Administrator, and Budget Analyst

Mission:
The Healthcare Coalition of Southwestern Pennsylvania will promote effective emergency preparedness for members of the health care sector and associated agencies through coordinated Planning, Mitigation, Response and Recovery activities. The goals of the Coalition through collaboration will be to decrease deaths, injuries and illnesses resulting from emergencies and to maintain the capabilities of the health care sector during disruptive event.
