4 Unfamiliar Words: Pg. 87 Context clues surrounding an unfamiliar word may define, restate, explain, or give examples of the word Ex: In the grasslands, they often had to build makeshift earthen homes. They built with dirt or sod because wood was so scarce. What helped you learn what earthen means? What helped you know what sod is?
