supreme power or held by a single person or royal family

4. Heir
a person who inherits  the right to rule after the death of the King or Queen

5. Divine Right
Authority to rule comes directly from God

6. Armada
a large group of vehicles, airplanes, or ships

7. Balance of Power
Goal to maintain equal power among all European monarchs during the Age of Absolutism

8. Constitutional Monarchy
Monarchy that requires the King to follow laws, restricts the Kings power

9. Mercenaries
Soldiers for hire, not loyal to any country

10. Depopulation
Reduction or loss of people living in one area

11. Westernization
Adoption of Western nation ideas, technology, and culture.
Example Russia adopting ideas from France and Great Britian

12. Warm Water Port
A port for ships located in warm water that does not freeze over during the winter
