Procedures Line up Boys and Girls for two separate lines outside
Your head and eyes will be facing forward No speaking, laughing, whispering, winking When told to do so you will enter the classroom and be seated Retrieve YOUR American Journey textbook from credenza (shelf) on the side of classroom Annotate the days objective and CW in your agenda on the correct day Prepare your desk for class Text Folder Agenda Interactive Notebook Pencil (NO PENS)

Procedures (con’t) Bathroom Usage Silence in the classroom
4 Restrrom breaks/Hall passes per quarter No agenda – your not leaving class Do NOT interrupt me for a bathroom break Silence in the classroom Teacher says “Ears!” Class say “open” Teacher says “Eyes!” Class says “on you” When “on you” is said, all movement, talking discussion is done in the classroom.

You will be expected to summarize your learning everyday. More specifically can you demonstrate that you achieved the learning objective

Rules Please raise your hand and be called on to address the teacher or another student Please keep your unkind words to yourself and focus on building each other up instead of tearing each other down Come to class prepared Supplies Ready to learn Do not draw in textbooks or Reading Essentials Notebooks “I don’t know” is not an answer Lets have fun in this class!!!

Weekly Routine Quizzes Bellwork Homework Channel One News 1-2 per week
This can and usually will be a quiz on the lesson from the day before Homework Seldom issued but if given you will be expected to turn it in or you will receive a “0” in the grade book Channel One News We will watch 2-3 times per week granted the class can contribute intelligently and openly to discussions on current events.

Today… Please write your last name and first initial on the popsicle stick provided with a sharpie Pass popsicle stick forward Place collaboration rubric, Costa Thinking levels and marking text information in your binder directly behind pencil pouch (only 1st hour) Place label on AJ text book and neatly write first name and last initial then write your name and book number on book sheet on front of class Please bring back SIGNED student information sheet and parent/student statement of understanding NLT Wednesday 8/9 and place in Blue folder (1st graded event!)
