Introduction to the Enterprise Challenge (Outline)
100 students (10 tables of 10 students) from the North West Regional College are given 90 minutes to come up with their own unique business idea. All students present are given the opportunity to choose their favourite business proposal. As a result, the most popular idea will then be launched at the live event. A website will be made, a logo will be designed, along with social media accounts for the winning business – after 90 minutes.

Target Audience NWRC Students
Students from several different departments studying at North West Regional College will be given the opportunity to participate in this 90 Minute Entrepreneurial challenge. It gives them a chance to showcase their skills, allowing them to use their creativity whilst working as part of a team. This project will be commissioned as part of a marketing product for the North West Regional College, along with entrepreneur Tom Griffiths, who will lead the live event. The final product will be used by the client, Tom Griffiths, to promote his skills and business accordingly.

The Client Tom Griffiths: NI Entrepreneur
He is an Entrepreneur, start-up motivator, ideas originator, author and media figure based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Tom moved to Northern Ireland in 2013 to focus on business consultancy, start-ups and entrepreneurs, although he first started his journey as an entrepreneur in 1997. One of the original founders of gapyear.com, a website designed to help students who decide to take a gap year.

The Live Event Crew List
Several Camera operators (including static and moving cameras), event runners, director, audio/mic operators, production manager, editors. Set Up A relatively large room, 13 tables (10 for students, 3 for judges/experts), a large projection screen. Equipment includes: JVC cameras, DSLR’s, microphones, laptops, projector. Location Student zone in the Foyle Building of the North West Regional College, Derry/Londonderry. Audio Preparation We participated in a audio workshop, as a class, with Patrick (the technician). He showed us how to set up the mics accordingly, and how to connect them to the cameras we would be using. This helps to ensure that audio will be perfect before the start of production.
