2. SOME POSITIVE SENTENCES
Plural countable nouns
Ex :
There are some flowers on the table.
There are some children in the garden.
Uncountable nouns .
Ex:
There is some money in the bank.
We need some meat and some water

3. Some is apossible plural form of a\an and one

4. When we offer, requests and ask for things, we use SOME
Ex offer and requests :
Would you like some coffee? Yes, please
Could I have some cake ?
Ex ask :

Ex Plural countable nouns: We haven’t got any grapes in the fridge. There aren’t any women in the park. Ex Uncountable nouns : There isn’t any water. We don’t need any furniture.

8. We use ANY in most questions
:Ex
Is there any ice in the fridge?
Has he got any friends?
Do you need any help?

9. Any with negative verbs and questions
Have you got any many ?
Did he catch any fish ?
I haven’t any matches.

10. Any =hardly=barely=scarcely=without
He hardly has any time
He pass the exam without any mistakes

11. Any after if \whether and in expressions of doubt

12. no(adjective) and none (pronoun) can be used with affirmative verbs to express a negative
I have no apples .I had some last year but I have none this year.

13. no+noun can be the subject of asentence:
Non as the subject is possible but not very usual :
No work was done
No letters arrived
We expected letters, but none came

14. none + of ,however ,is quite usual as subject :
None of the tourists wanted to climb the mountain.

15. Some ,any and none can be used with of +the \this\these\those possessive personal pronouns
Some of the staff can speak Japanese
