SETTING: IS THE TIME AND PLACE OF THE ACTION.

EXPOSITION: IS THE PART OF A WORK THAT INTRODUCES THE CHARACTERS, SETTING, AND BASIC SITUATION.

PLOT: IS THE SEQUENCE OF EVENTS IN WHICH EACH EVENT RESULTS FROM A PREVIOUS ONE AND CAUSES THE NEXT.

RISING ACTION: THE EVENTS THAT LEAD TO THE CLIMAX.

CLIMAX: IS THE TURNING POINT OF THE STORY.
IT IS THE MOMENT OF MOST TENSION. WILL THE PROTAGONIST FAIL OR SUCCEED?

FALLING ACTION: THE EVENTS THAT LEAD TO THE RESOLUTION (THE END).

Resolution + Denouement
IS THE OUTCOME OF THE CONFLICT IN A PLOT. ALL THE STORYLINES SHOULD BE COMPLETED. Dénouement: (French term, pronounced: day-noo-moh) the ending. At this point, any remaining secrets, questions or mysteries which remain after the resolution are solved by the characters or explained by the author.
