2 New Vocabulary Accommodate - to adapt or adjust as necessary, to do someone a favor Anomaly - a deviation from the common rule, odd or inconsistent Facetious - frivolously amusing, silly or not practical. Bemuse - to cause to be preoccupied, often to the point of confusion Expectation - a prospect of future good or profit

3 Barriers to Confident Behavior
Fear – is a biological process where people secure energy to do a job that matters Phobia – is a persistent irrational fear that causes avoidance Stage Fright – a serious speaking problem that gets worse as we present, sometimes so severe that we would rather die the act. Performance Anxiety – the nervous tension experienced by athletics’, ballet dancers, and speakers (commonly associated with the word “butterflies” Communication Apprehension – is a fear of public speaking because we think others are judging us.

4 SELF ESTEEM – belief in who you are.
Life Lesson – if you never try anything new then you can not achieve beyond the present, you might be able to say that you’ve never experienced failure, but you have also, not experience life. SELF ESTEEM – belief in who you are. PERCEPTION – how you see things, and how others see you

5 How do we build confidence.
Planks of confidence gives an insight that is applicable in all activities.

6 C is Content content – that is having something worthwhile to say

7 O is Organization organization – that is planning and staying focused, having a plan or outline

8 N is for Notes notes, your ideas in short form, remember to take notes to ensure understanding and follow through

9 F is for Friendliness friendliness – being congenial, outgoing and positive

10 I is for Impression impression – the perception you want others to view you, only one chance to start well

11 D is for Dedication dedication – practicing to improve and attain success

12 E is for Empathy empathy - understanding how someone feels

13 N is newness newness – being fresh and original in approach of presentation

14 C is conviction conviction – believing in what you do and the reasons for doing it

15 E is enthusiasm enthusiasm – directed energy that creates a positive attitude.
