Welcome Welcome to a new school year!
I am here to teach; you are here to learn. I will do my job; you will do yours and we will work together to use this year beneficially. Positive attitude is the key to success!

Classroom Rules Follow directions
Treat everyone how you want to be treated-with kindness and respect( this means no teasing or name-calling) Come to class prepared and ready to work. Keep hands, feet, objects to yourself

Entering the Classroom
Be on time! You should be getting ready by 8:50 a.m. Enter the classroom quietly. Go directly to your assigned seat Begin warm-up You need to be seated by 9:00 a.m. sharp and prepared for the day

Transitions When leaving the classroom, make sure to push your chair in and grab all materials you need Walk quietly to your destination and keep hands and feet to yourself Enter the classroom quietly and wait for directions

During instruction Listen to the teacher with your full attention.
No pencil sharpening/hand held only! Stay in seat No talking while the teacher is talking Raise your hand to ask questions.

While you are Working Talking to each other should be no louder than a whisper The person on the other side of the room should not be able to hear you. Respect each other, the teacher and the equipment I collect homework the next day unless told otherwise Ask questions if you are confused! Take your time!

What if I am Done? Check over your work
Quietly work on other homework (like spelling) STEAM Bins/Math games Read quietly at your seat/cursive practice Complete your classroom job for the day Ask me for anything you can do to help

Cooperative Learning Always work with your assigned group
Always ask your group for help if you have a question before asking the teacher. Ask 3 before me! Contribute to the group and don’t be lazy and let others do your work. Try to resolve problems within your group before getting teachers involved. Be polite!

Bathroom Passes Try to wait until after instruction until using the restroom so you don’t miss important info Ask permission to use the bathroom and place the pass on your desk Only one boy or girl may use the restroom at a time unless it’s an emergency

When you are Absent It is your job to find out what you missed
Copy the class agenda so you know exactly what we did Get any worksheets you need from the “Extras” basket You get 2 days to make up each absent day. Try not to be absent! It ends up being more work for you! And we will miss you

Late/Missing Work If you do not turn in an assignment, you will complete it at recess and lose 10 percent of the grade each day it is late I only accept late work 2 days after it was due

Grading Scale: 93%-100% A 73%-76% C 90%-92% A- 70%-72% C-
87%-89% B %-69% D+ 83%-86% B %-66% D 80%-82% B %-62% D- 77%-79% C % and below E Grades will be weighted for each subject

Behavior Plan It is important to follow the rules and act appropriately so you can be safe and successful in the classroom! You have a clean slate every day in here. If rules are broken, this is the plan I follow: Verbal warning or look Lose 5 minutes of recess or $100 Lose 10 minutes of recess/fill out think sheet with parent signature Minor Referral form with parent signature 5. A major referral form will be written for severe behavior such as name-calling, fighting, swearing and you will be sent to see Mrs. Pritchard

Classroom Rewards PBS tickets= jack shack Fridays and lunch with Mrs. Pritchard 20 eagle tickets earns the class an electronics day! Candy/treats for good behavior Class money to save up for Classroom Economy Auctions

Dismissal Make sure your work area is clean-nothing is on or under your desk You will wait for your teacher to dismiss you. THE BELL DOES NOT DISMISS YOU! Stack your chair, get your mail, and stand quietly by your desk until you are dismissed
