3. Background
Our history journey to this point has introduced us to the beginning of civilization. Our travels have now taken us the great civilization of Egypt. Now, it is time to gather information we have learned and analyze important Egyptian events like real historians. In this assignment you will be asked to create a newspaper spread that highlights the key components of an important aspect Egyptian history. Let’s show how creative we can be and make Egyptians proud!

4. Directions
For this assignment you will be given a Power Point template that you may manipulate to create a desired front page newspaper spread.
Simply follow the directions on the Power Point slide and input the necessary information into the locations labeled. Be creative and have fun!
The information in the textbook related to this project can be found on pages Use these pages and the notes from class to gather the materials you need!

You will choose ONE of the following as topics for your newspaper spread:

Describe the scene at the building site. How are they assembling the Pyramid? What are you seeing? What would a reporter tell the public about this event?!
What would the architect say if you were to interview him? What would the workers say if you were to interview them?

You will choose ONE of the following as topics for your newspaper spread:

If you were to sit down and interview the Great King Tut what would you ask him? What do you believe his answers would be?
Turn this interview into a front page news article and help us learn more about this mysterious teenage king!

7. You will choose ONE of the following as topics for your newspaper spread:
The Life of an Everyday Egyptian
What do you do for work? What do you do for fun? What is life like as an Egyptian peasant? What would you like to see more of from the government? You may create your own interview questions and answers as well!
All of these answers can be found within in the pages of your textbook.

This is an easy and fun project and worth some nice points. The excuse “I don’t understand” means that you will come to a help session for extra help. This is 7th grade and you’re in the in game now. It’s time we learn to problem solve. If you’re stuck, ask for help. Ignoring the problem only makes it worse. You all are intelligent and excellent students. I know you all are going to do fantastic!
