2. Tips to Prepare for the test
Keep a Journal
Write down things you are doing to prepare for college and other events in your daily life.
Organize your thoughts and practice writing in English. Track your own progress.
Read it to yourself and read it out loud.

Contains sentences that test your knowledge of important structural and grammatical elements of standard written English.
Sentences include a variety of topics Sentences give no particular advantage to individuals in any specific field of study.

Read a passage about an academic topic.
Listen to a lecture about the same topic.
Take notes while you read and listen.
Write a written response to a question that relates to both the text and the listening.
Your response should be words.
Hint: Look for three more points that are related. Your score will depend on the quality of your writing as well as how well you answer the question.

Minor details
The student's own opinion
Statistics (e.g. 72% of people…)
Detailed explanations
Direct quotes

7. Sentence #1 – The main idea
Begin with “The video focuses on…………….”
