Can you relate (at all) to the character, time, setting, issues, etc…
This is the most important way we relate to texts.

How does the argument build?
You must remove your personal feelings and be a neutral audience.

13. Text to Text Relating one book to another book or article
Historical references
Complexity and patterns of other writers/similar writings in a time period

14. Text to World So What? What does this have to do with anything?
What role does it play in the world?
Mature academic perspective

15. Small Details…. Must be 5x8 index cards
Write on the lined side, add an extra card if needed
Explanations need to be complete and thorough.
Cards need to be held together by a paperclip or butterfly clip (preferred).
