2. Free Verse vs. Blank Verse
Free Verse- verse that does not rhyme or have a regular meter. Spoken Word poetry is a great example of free verse.
Blank Verse- verse without rhyme, also! However, blank verse uses iambic pentameter. Lines are 10 syllables, much like a sonnet!

Iambic Pentameter
Iambic Pentameter is a particular rhythm of words measured in small groups of 10 syllables, just like sonnets! Begin with an unstressed syllable, followed by a stressed syllable. Then repeat.
