2. Metaphorical language- describes one thing in terms of another thing
Metaphorical language- describes one thing in terms of another thing. Similes and metaphors are examples of metaphorical language.
 Example
Brutus says to Cassius, “There is no terror, Cassius, in your threats:
For I am armed so strong in honesty
That they pass by me as the idle wind.”
In this use of metaphorical language, he is comparing Cassius’s threats to the idle wind, which does not have much strength or force.
Metaphor- a way of describing something that says something is something else.  
Simile- a way of describing something that says something is like something else. Example
Antony says, “You showed your teeth like apes, and fawned like hounds,
And bowed like bondmen, kissing Caesar’s feet.” In this simile Antony is comparing the conspirators to apes, hounds, and bondmen.

3. Conflict- a struggle between opposing forces External conflict- a character struggles with an outside force, such as another character, a group of characters, or a force such as the weather Internal conflict- the character struggles with his or her own opposing beliefs, desires, or values
