OSHA’s Outreach Programs
$9.3 Million from OSHA has been awarded in Susan Harwood federal safety and health training grants, to 74 nonprofit organizations nationwide. Employers are able to educate their employees on hazard recognition, injury prevention, and understanding their rights and responsibilities.

OSHA’s National Emphasis Program (NEP)
In light of the recent spike in trench fatalities, OSHA, under the NEP inspectors will record trench and excavation inspections into a national reporting system to aid in developing outreach programs. The NEP began Oct. 1, with a three-month period of education and prevention outreach.
