6. Flat Bones Thin, roughly parallel surfaces
Roof of the skull, sternum, ribs, scapulae

9. Sesamoid Bones Small, flat, and shaped somewhat like a sesame seed
Near the joints of the knees, hands, and feet. Individual people vary in the location and abundance of these.
Modify pressure, reduce friction, occasionally alter the direction of muscle pull
