Assessment - Design UNIT –I ( APRIL TO JULY) TYPE OF ASSESSMENT
MAX.MARKS DURATION OF TEST SCHEDULED DATE WEEKLY TEST 35 MARKS 1 HOUR- TO 1 HOUR 15 MINS (FOR SUBJECTS THAT HAVE PRACTICALS) TO BE HELD AS PER THE SCHEDULE GIVEN IN YEAR PLANNER CLASS TEST 15 MARKS 20 – 30 MINS. HELD AS PER THE SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED BY THE TEACHER 35/50 MARKS 1 ½ hours AS PER THE SCHEDULE GIVEN IN THE YEAR PLANNER

SYLLABUS COVERED IN EACH SUBJECT TILL MAY (INCLUDING)
EXTRA CLASSES WILL BE TESTED IN THE WEEKLY TEST HELD IN JULY - AUGUST IT IS MANDATORY TO GET MINIMUM 33 % IN EACH SUBJECT IN THESE TESTS. NO UNFAIR MEANS TO BE USED IN ANY OF THE TESTS. STUDENTS CAN GO TO ANY SUBJECT TEACHER TO CLARIFY THEIR DOUBTS DURING THE ZERO PERIOD. STUDENTS WILL NOT HAVE ANY PRACTICAL EXAMINATIONS FOR UNIT – I .

PRACTICE PAPERS FOR VACATION
BESIDES THE REGULAR HOME WORK WHICH IS GIVEN AS PER THE SCHEDULE, TO ENABLE THE STUDENTS TO BE REGULAR WITH THE STUDIES, STUDENTS WILL BE GIVEN 4 PRACTICE PAPERS IN EACH SUBJECT. IT WILL BE POSTED ON CLASS GOOGLE GROUP . THE PRACTICE PAPER WILL BE BASED ON BOARD QUESTIONS AND WILL BE OF 35/50 MARKS WHICH STUDENTS MUST ATTEMPT WITHIN THE STIPULATED TIME. IT IS MANDATORY TO DO THESE ASSIGNMENTS.

HALF YEARLY EXAMINATION
ASSESSMENT DESIGN HALF YEARLY EXAMINATION HALF YEARLY EXAMINATIONS WILL BE HELD IN SEPTEMBER. THERE WILL BE PRACTICAL EXAMINATIONS HELD FOR THESE EXAMINATIONS. SYLLABUS COVERED TILL THE FIRST WEEK OF SEPTEMBER WHICH IS ABOUT 75 % WILL BE TESTED IN THESE EXAMS. HENCE STUDENTS HAVE TO BE REGULAR WITH THEIR STUDIES. EACH PAPER WILL BE OF 3 HOURS DURATION AND MAXIMUM MARKS WILL BE 100, 70 OR 80 AS PER THE SUBJECT. PASSING CRITERIA WILL BE 33 % IN ALL THE SUBJECTS . 33 % MUST BE SCORED SEPARATELY IN THEORY AS WELL AS IN PRACTICAL EXAM.

BEGINNING WITH HALF YEARLY EXAMINATIONS , STUDENTS WILL BE GIVEN A PROFORMA TO DO SELF ANALYSIS OF THEIR PERFORMANCE IN THE EXAM IN EACH SUBJECT . THIS WILL HELP THEM TO DISCOVER THEIR STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES. TEACHERS WILL ALSO SHARE THE MARKING SCHEME WITH THE STUDENTS TO GIVE THEM AN IDEA HOW TO WRITE AN ANSWER. THERE WOULD ALSO BE SHARING OF ANSWERS WRITTEN BY HIGH ACHIEVERS AS AN EXAMPLE.

ASSESSMENT DESIGN – REVISION TEST
THIS TEST WILL BE HELD IN NOV AS PER THE SCHEDULE MENTIONED IN THE YEAR PLANNER. THE ASSESSMENT WILL COVER 80% SYLLABUS AND WILL BE OF THREE HOURS DURATION . THERE WILL BE NO PRACTICAL EXAMINATIONS HELD FOR THESE TESTS.

ASSESSMENT DESIGN- FIRST PRE- BOARD EXAMINATION PRE- BOARD EXAMINATION WILL BE HELD IN DEC- JAN. EXAMS FOR TWO SUBJECTS WILL BE HELD IN DECEMBER AND FOR THE OTHER THREE SUBJECTS IN JANUARY. STUDENTS THUS MUST UTILISE THE WINTER BREAK FOR STUDYING . ENTIRE SYLLABUS WILL BE TESTED. PRACTICAL EXAMINATION WILL BE HELD FOR THE PRE-BOARD EXAMINATION BEFORE THE THEORY EXAMINATION.

ASSESSMENT DESIGN – BOARD EXAMINATION
BOARD PRACTICAL EXAMINATION WILL BE HELD FROM THE LAST WEEK OF JANUARY TO THE SECOND WEEK OF FEBRUARY. BOARD EXAMINATION WILL BE HELD IN THE MONTH OF MARCH- APRIL

There will be a component of Internal Assessment/
CHANGES PROPOSED BY CBSE FROM There will be a component of Internal Assessment/ Project Work/ Practical in all subjects of at least 20 marks. The main paper in Languages, Mathematics, Political Science will be of 80 marks. Already a component of Practical is there in subjects like History, Business Studies, Economics, Accountancy, Home Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Psychology, Painting, Computer Science and Geography. The main paper for all subjects will comprise of Objective and Subjective parts. Objective type including MCQs will be of about 25% marks & Subjective type will be of about 75% marks. Duration of the papers will be 3 hours for each paper except for Painting for which it will be 2 hours

CHANGES INTRODUCED IN 2019 EXAMINATION
This year CBSE introduced 33 % internal choices and section wise format in all subjects in the main question paper . This will continue for the next session too.
