2 DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT LEASE PORTFOLIO
The Head Office of the Department of Social Development (DSD) is currently accommodated in the Human Science Research Council (HSRC) building which is a leased facility at 134 Pretorius Street, Pretoria CBD. A total of m² office space and 129 parking bays is occupied by this Department in the said building.  The lease contract expired on 30 April 2017. The Independent Appeals Tribunal of the DSD is accommodated in another leased facility (2 597 m² and 132 parking bays), namely the Harlequins Office Park situated in Groenkloof, Pretoria. 3 STATUS OF LEASE AGREEMENTS
Both leases were negotiated with the Landlords as part of the renegotiation process agreed upon with National Treasury. This information was sent to the client on 5 September 2018 and 22 January 2019 to confirm funding regarding the proposed renewal of leases for the Harlequins Park and HSRC Buildings respectively. For both leases a 3, 5 and 9 year 11 month lease options for renewal was sent to the client for approval. Awaiting client approval on the way forward.

4 RESOLUTIONS OF THE MINISTERS MEETING
DSD remain in the HSRC Building whilst DPW test the market for interim accommodation for the DSD.
