4. Change to Scientific Notation
Procedure:
Move decimal point until the value of number is between 1 & 10
Multiply by 10 raised to a power = # of places decimal was moved
If original # = a decimal then exponent is negative.
Ex.: Convert to scientific notation.
First, change to To get there, we moved three to the left, so the power of ten will be 3.

5. Change 2x103 to a regular number:
103 = 10 x 10 x 10 = 1000
1000 x 2 = 2000
2 x 103 = 2000
