2. Biography
John Pemberton was born on July 8, 1831 in Georgia. He spent most of his childhood in Rome, Georgia. In April 1865 during the battle of Columbus he sustained a saber wound and started taking Morphine to ease the pain. John Pemberton got addicted to the medicine. He tried to cure it, but instead accidentally made Coca Cola. Later he still couldn’t stop his Morphine habit, and almost went bankrupt. He is most famous for making Coke. John Pemberton died on August 16, His grave and house can be found in Columbus Georgia today.

3. Invention
When John Pemberton was taking Morphine, he got addicted and noticed it. He didn’t like having an addiction to the expensive stuff, so he tried to make a cure for it since he had gone to Reform Medical College of Georgia. Pemberton realized it wouldn’t work, so when he noticed that it tasted good he tried to make it better and get money off it. He used Cola beans to make it, so that is why it is called what it is. He changed drink businesses because when people started drinking it they realized how good it was and cept buying it. He invented a drink a lot of people enjoy.
