State Highway 146 Utility Relocations
Relocating the District’s infrastructures due to the expansion of State Highway 146 thru Kemah. The District has four utilities crossing State Highway 146 and a section of water line and force main running along the east right-of-way of State Highway 146. This projected is being mandated by TxDOT. The probable construction costs for this project is $1,098,000

Wastewater Treatment Plant Outfall
Based on future growth in the District the existing wastewater treatment plant outfall size will need to be increased. The current outfall is located along Cien Road and Bayshore Drive and finally reaches the Bay between two existing residential structures. The District is currently working with existing property owners to secure a new route for the proposed outfall to avoid impacts to the existing pavement and residential homes. The probable construction costs for this project is $739,700.
5
Birch Road Utility Bridge
Galveston County has contacted the District about the reconstruction of the Birch Road Bridge in the Lazy Bend Area. Currently the existing bridge is supporting 3 force mains and one water line for the District. Galveston County has instructed the District to relocate their utilities to a separate pipe bridge before the reconstruction of the Birch Road Bridge. This project is being mandated by Galveston County. The probable construction costs for this pipe bridge is $298,100.
6
Stand Pipe Modifications
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has recently inspected the existing stand pipe and has instructed the District to make some modifications. Modify the roof to eliminate any ponding of water on the roof and modify the inflow and outflow of the stand pipe to help with circulation of the water. The probable construction of this project is $417,400.
7
Elevated Storage Tank Recoating
It is time to recoat the elevated storage tank to address and prevent any further degradation of the tank material. This process will include sand blasting and repainting of the elevated storage tank. The probable construction costs of this project is $431,300.
8
Water Plant Generators
The three existing water plant sites in the District do not have onsite emergency power. As the population in the District grows larger and the water plant sites increase their production the need for onsite emergency generators is becoming a necessity. The District is planning to design and construct three separate generators one for each site. The probable construction costs for this project is $1,262,100.
