Analyze the situation and choose the right time to ask for help
Look and Decide Is it an emergency? Put Glue/Tape Here Sometimes, we feel like the things we want or need are always an emergency. Here are categories for real emergencies: Fire: Something is on fire (that shouldn’t be on fire) Blood or Bathroom: Someone is bleeding and needs the nurse or needs to get to the bathroom RIGHT away Crisis: Continuous aggression, self-injury, and high-magnitude disruption Zombies: A true zombie invasion. Analyze the situation and choose the right time to ask for help If people are talking, it’s best to wait until they are done to ask for help or share your idea. Sometimes, people will talk for hours. If you have waited about 1 minute near the person, wait for a break in the conversation and say “excuse me.” If you are in line, always wait for your turn at the front to ask for help. If you have a genuine emergency, you can interrupt right away.
