A tap is used to apply threads inside a hole 17. Describe the procedure for taping? Rotating the tap into the hole drilled the proper size, the tap will apply the threads to the inside walls of the hole. The tap must be square to the work surface, and worked in an in and out motion to prevent the cuttings from jamming and breaking the tap.
