2 Getting Started-Sr Capts
Information & Paperwork Warm Up Information Congrats to all – placed 1st at Red Wing! Paperwork Registration – O-Town, Northfield, Big Northfield Practice Sheets – Get signed & then turn in blue ones today. Pick up new pink form. Rate/Rank Forms – keep filling these in after each meet Brought to you by Senior Captains!

3 Saturday, March 3 – Senior Captains
We have this Saturday off! Whoot whoot! Rest, relax, rejuvenate. Work on memorizing your speech. Enjoy your weekend.

4 O-Town Meet Info. March 10 – Coach Adam
Be here at 6:50 a.m. Bus leaves at 7 a.m. 3 Rounds and Finals No Novice divisions (sorry) Bring a lunch or money for lunch Home around 4:30 – 5:00 Everyone should try to be “off script” (this means your speech is fully memorized) Continue to dress professionally

Draw categories: you will draw from ALL stories and/or topics – you will draw for EACH round Discussion: you’ll focus on Section II from the outline – Government Issues Awards: 3:00 (approximately) – Auditorium Stay dressed up until after awards CLEAN UP! Please clean up our area in the cafeteria, auditorium, and bus when we visit schools

7:45-8:15 a.m. Team Registration 8:45 a.m. All Draws Begin 8:50 a.m. Judges Meeting 9:15 a.m. Round I begins, all events 10:30 a.m. Round II begins, all events 11:45 a.m. Round III begins, all events 1:30ish p.m. Final Rounds begin 3:00 p.m. Awards in auditorium

7 Bus Breakfasts – Jr. Capts
Thanks to those who’ve supplied bus breakfasts so far! Yummy! Categories – Be sure to sign up for your Sat. We really need 4-6 people on each Saturdays since there so many of us. Please do your part to contribute. Contact Anna or Kelsey.

8 Speech Etiquette – Coach Lyke
Just a few reminders… Prelim rounds: Standing outside the door before a judge arrives. Why? Where? What to do. Final rounds: Competitor and viewer behaviors. Awards: On stage and audience behaviors Please make “woots” shorter Please don’t yell out at speakers on stage Please don’t make fun of the presenter when he/she messes up a name. Others…

Be sure to get your necessary signatures for Red Wing (today, if possible) Make sure your name is at the top! TURN IN THIS WEEK (today, ideally) The last day we will take these is March 5. Pick up the NEW PINK sheet.

10 Coach Swap! – Coach Lyke Starts Today, Monday, Feb. 26th
You will practice the same time and same day, give or take 25 minutes DOUBLE CHECK THE NEW SCHEDULE! A few people’s times have changed by 25 minutes. Please double check the schedule, which is found on this webpage We do this to provide you with new feedback and new challenges to help you grow and, selfishly, we want to see more speakers! Also, extra practices begin TODAY. Sign up here.

13 Future Meets – Coach Adam
If you CANNOT compete at the following meets, please sign up ASAP. Coach Nieland needs to know the Tuesday before each meet. Owatonna, March 10 – No Cannon Falls there. We’d like to have our whole team there to REPRESENT! Northfield, March 17 – Always a fun meet! Big 9, Northfield – Tuesday, March 20 – We will choose 39 speakers to compete. (Big 9 rules) You will be excused from 5th-8th hours. Tell us now if you cannot compete. Winona Cotter, March 24 – Our last meet before Sections

15 Goal Setting Check-in Take a few minutes to answer these questions:
Have you reached your mid-season goal yet? What specifically did you do (in attempt) to reach this goal? Could you have done things differently to actually achieve this goal (if you’ve not yet obtained it) or, if you already achieved it, to have achieved it sooner? Keeping in mind your answer to #1, do you need to change/tweak your goal for the 2nd half of the season? If so, what is your new goal? Will you need to measure it differently from your first goal? If so, how will you measure it? What steps will you take to achieve it? Is it realistic? Can you achieve it by the end of the season? This slide is hidden. Let’s save it for next week.
