Funding Justification cont.
Registered Dietitians are an important aspect in the multidisciplinary team in the treatment of eating disorders. Supported by the American Psychological Association, the Academy for Eating Disorders, and the American Academy of Pediatrics RDs may be the first to recognize an eating disorder diagnosis for individuals and may be the first professional sought out by the client Key nutrition therapies require expertise in nutritional requirements for the life stage of the affected individual, nutritional rehabilitation treatments, and modalities to restore normal eating patterns RDs contribute to the care process across the continuum of acute care, recovery, and relapse prevention or treatment.
