Where are we now? What comes next? What are the implications?

Where are we now? Model of the survey has been produced and is being tested by the HESA team A steering group has been established – AGCAS is represented on the group The procurement timeline has been decided No details around financial implications as yet – to follow early 2018 First survey cohort graduate from August (to July 2018)

What next? First Steering Group meeting: 25th September
Discussions will cover: procurement, coding, implementation, branding and communications HESA will undertake cognitive testing of the new survey Universities will need to collect contact details from the first cohort and ensure that they have a strategy for keeping in contact with them HESA have issued some guidelines and advice around data protection, as well as a new data protection statement

What does this mean for Higher Education Providers?
Messages to students will need to change: HEPs should be considering a pre-departure awareness-raising campaign and a 'keep warm' strategy to maximise returns Staff will need to understand the new survey and new processes HESA will issue guidelines on minimum contact with graduates: Is that enough for our institution? What else do we need to do? How will it work in practice? What are the different areas of responsibility and who will lead on these?
