Interest – get their attention Need – why are they there Title – what is the lesson (use visual aid) Revision – recap previous lessons Objective – what will the lesson achieve (use visual aid) Scope – how long will it last Handout – is there one? Sgt Hall (ATC) 2359 (Woolton) Squadron

5 Introduction Sets the overall theme of the lesson
Gives students overview of topic Should last for about 1/5 of the lesson time depending on amount of revision Sgt Hall (ATC) 2359 (Woolton) Squadron

Don’t start by saying “Would you like to know how a plane stays in the air?” E.g. use questions to get to end result… How many of you have been on holiday? Where did you go? 8 Interest Task: Think of word. Write it down but don’t show anyone.
List 4 questions to get to the word you are thinking of, but they can not contain the word. Example…… What season are we in at the moment? Spring is cold, what could you do to warm up?
