WELCOME!

District Goal To drive our instructional focus across the district. To use benchmarking, diagnostic, and classroom level data

Reflections and Ah-ha Moments
District Data Dig #1

Ah-ha Moments The number of students scoring above 80% correct in the physical science section was dramatically different for 4th and 8th grade students. That the scores of the student did not correlate as much as I thought they would to their class level (honors, CP, or tech) My biggest ah-ha moment was the number of 7th grades who scored lower in interpretation and analysis compared to 6th and 8th grade. While the number of students who scored proficient overall was comparative to the other grades, 7th graders struggled with interpretation and analysis.

Ah-ha Continued I noticed that the tech prep students’ scores are significantly lower than the college prep students’ scores. In some cases, the CP scores are double or more than double the tech prep scores. This leads me to believe that perhaps we are not challenging are tech prep students enough. Discovering how well our children maintained their NWF skills over the summer.

Teacher Effectiveness
Differentiated (Options) Clinical Danielson Model with a Pre-conference, Classroom Observation, Post-conference, Walkthroughs School Improvement Action Research Plan Strategy Portfolio Data Analysis Building-facilitated data digs

Data Analysis Participate in training, administering, or analyzing diagnostic or benchmarking assessments. Participate in data digs facilitated at the building level. These data digs are required for all building personnel and will occur on identified after school days or during in-service days. Participate in collaborative discussions with colleagues about data and how these data impact your instructional focus.

E-Metric District Data Dig #2

Objectives: To become familiar with another resource for looking at student data To work collaboratively on analysis of E-Metric data To complete Worksheet A as Data Dig evidence for your data folders To make connections to the first Data Dig To complete Worksheet B for individual growth and understanding Participants should be told to sign into their e-metric accounts and stop at the first screen. (show next slide as you are asking for this and then bring up the next slide for specific sign-in details)

E-Metric District Data Dig #2
Please log on to the E-Metric site: Verify that everyone has access or is sharing with someone and proceed by going to the live e-metric site. Worksheet A is divided into 3 parts. The process for delivery will be to do a demonstration of each part by having the teachers click along with you. You can refer to Worksheet A as a guide for this process. This will be a I/we do activity. Begin by taking them into the Getting Results section of the PSSA side of e-metric. It is on the right side. You should emphasize that this is a broad overall report for accessing district and building information. Show how the report is utilized by using the reading section as an example. They will be asked to fill in information about Math in the same way the presenter demonstrates reading. Show: 2014 Results; Multi-year Results; Grade Cluster Results; and Reporting Categories by grade. Use Reading for this and tell them Math will work the same way and it is what they will use to complete part 1 on Worksheet A. Return to slide 6 as a visual reminder off what they should be doing. Use the following information if you forgot your password or if you are having trouble getting into the site: User name: Staff Log in: tidepride (no caps)

Once everyone is signed into the site, you should instruct them to click on the PSSA icon.

Make sure everyone understands the process of working in pairs or teams for this activity. The form should reflect the groups. Proceed to the next slide as they begin work.
