Answer the following questions on a post it: 1. What is a political party? 2. What is one advantage and one disadvantage of a two party system? 3. What are third parties? What role do third parties play in a major election? What is a strategy third parties can use in order to actually win elections? 4. What is gerrymandering? 5. What is the electoral college?

Voting You are only voting on parties you are not in competition with – List the candidate name and then vote on the following: 1. Quality of each group’s pamphlet and explanation of their campaign platform – 10 pts. 2. Quality of the group’s poster – effort and if you think the poster would help draw people in to vote for their candidate – 10 pts. 3. Quality of the group’s speech – is it persuasive? Do you think the group did a good job explaining their candidate’s positions on the major issues? – 10 pts. 4. Quality of the group’s campaign ad/commercial – is the video persuasive? Does it explain the candidate’s stance on the major issues? – 10 pts. TOTAL Points out of 40 – highest total for each party receives your vote
