Adding Pizza Fractions
+ = ½+1/4= 2/4+1/4= 3/4 Must have the denominator be the same. Find Lowest common denominator by finding a common number in both fractions. Then simply add the numerators.

Examples 1/4+1/4= 2/4= 1/2 1/4+3/4= 1 1/5+1/2= 2/10+5/10= 7/10
1/8+1/4=1/8+2/8=3/8 1/25+1/25=2/25 1/100+1/25=1/100+4/100=5/100=1/20 If Sally has ½ an apple and Jimmy gives sally 1/3 of his apple, how much apples does Sally have? ½+1/3= 3/6+2/6=5/6 of an apple.
