Argumentative or Informative? Directions: Decide if each prompt is argumentative or informative. Technology has drastically changed education in the twenty-first century. Many schools are abandoning the use of textbooks in favor of E-Readers (Kindles, Nooks, iPads). Your school has been awarded a grant to buy all students an E-reader with all of their textbooks preloaded on it. Write a letter to your teacher devising a plan for distributing, using, and taking care of the E-readers. School budgets have been slashed across the country. More schools have to make do with less money, so they have cut classes such as PE, Art, and Music. Your school is currently facing the difficult decision of cutting one of these classes. In a letter to your principal, convince him of which class to cut. Defend your position with reasons, details, and examples. Technology has drastically changed education in the twenty-first century. Many schools are abandoning the use of textbooks in favor of E-Readers (Kindles, Nooks, iPads). Should schools change their curriculum to use E-readers instead of textbooks? Why or why not? Write an essay convincing your reader to agree with your position.
