Analysis of Chapter 2 Test
Created for CVCA Physics By Dick Heckathorn 8 October 2004

Question 1 Where there are horizontal segments on the v-t graph.

Question 2 Where the magnitude of the speed on the v-t graph is the greatest. Remember speed does not have direction. Further vectors in different directions cannot be compared.

Question 3 The change in position is the final position minus
the initial position. Get directly from v-t graph or sum up areas between times.

Question 4 One can get the acceleration from the slope of the v-t graph.

Question 5 Since the velocity is not constant over the time to be analyzed, one uses the formula: Add v = d/t

Question 6 Average acceleration is change in velocity divided by the change in time.

Question 7 The total distance is the sum of both the positive and negative areas.

Question 8 One needs to find the displacement with is the final position minus the initial position.

Question 9 Since the velocity is not constant over the time involved, one must divide the total distance by the total time.

Question 10 Do you need to…..
It is just the value of the velocity at that time read directly from the v-t graph.

Question 11 Look for the greatest slope on v-t graph (ignore direction) or read the greatest magnitude from the a-t graph.
