Suffix review-meanings, baseword, and spelling changes-review of the last 3 lists- tests will reflect the ability to add suffixes to base words in a chart format.
Parts of speech-mixed review-pulling out the POS in sentences
Word problems-reading carefully, choosing an operation, writing an appropriate equation, and showing work using a learned strategy.
Finishing up research to complete Regions brochures
How to take notes-phrasing, paraphrasing, no plagiarism
Race: how to answer a reading question by following the RACE steps: restate, answer, cite evidence, explain (see red folders/rubric for details of expectations).
Odyssey Ware-working on math and reading learning paths
Editing work prior to turn in
Introduction to the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.-research/creation of a biography/timeline
Black History Month Project
Project due date: March 2nd
Students must do the following when notetaking:
Start with a verb (phrases a must; not complete sentences)
Start with a year, if addressing important dates
Bulleted facts cannot be just one word.
Students will transfer notes to a rough draft paper, so their notes must be understood.
Students are encouraged to use various resources; not just the internet!
Check-ins will be set up weekly, until project due date.
Parents, please review homework/notes prior to turning in to ensure guidelines are being met.

Powtoon Account
Thanks so much for all the families who helped create Powtoon accounts. The kids are eager to get started with this site, but they must have a parent create a free account at home. We will be using this site in class often. Once you have an account, begin exploring!

A chapter book came home on Friday
Student test date is this Friday.
Please help to make sure nightly reading is taking place.
Red Folder Update
Please return folders the very next day.
Please sign in two places: left hand side of conduct/work habits/AR AND the signature page that is stapled to the papers.
If you are keeping papers for review, please detach the signature page and return in folder.
The purpose of returning is to ensure that you have received the work.
