2 Major Features/Elements
Anglicanism is an episcopal church (bishop led church governance), as a means of demonstrating historical continuity with the early church. Particular importance is attached to the city of Canterbury. The archbishop of Canterbury is the spiritual head of Anglicanism, although he lacks the powers invested in a pope. Anglicanism is defined and distinguished by the Thirty-Nine Articles, dating from the realm of Queen Elizabeth I. Anglicanism is a strongly liturgical church, the Book of Common Prayer (1662), giving the church its fixed liturgical form.

3 Anglicanism (cont.) 5) The growing trend toward decentralization, leading other countries and nations to develop distinctive national or ethnic approaches to Anglicanism, resulting the church to become more diverse in its mission and outreach in respective areas throughout the world. 6) Anglicanism is a predominately English-language church.
