2. What is a Transition? Dictionary Definition
The process or a period of changing from one state or condition to another.
Literature Definition
words or phrases that create a logical connection between ideas, sentences, and paragraphs
Helps make writing flow better along with the ideas
Helps clear up confusion and make the writing unified as a whole rather than in choppy pieces.

3. Types of Transitions
Transitions work differently based on the circumstances of the paper. They can either be used to sum up a section within the writing to remind the reader of the main topic or to have the reader anticipate the upcoming information in the writing.
Transitions between sections—Focusing on longer essays, it may be best to include transitional paragraphs to sum up information that may belong to the reader and specify the relevance of the information to the discussion in the following sections.
Transitions between paragraphs—A transition between paragraphs can be a word or two (however, for example, similarly), a phrase, or a sentence. Transitions can be at the end of the first paragraph, at the beginning of the second paragraph, or in both places.
Transitions within paragraphs—As with transitions between sections and paragraphs, transitions within paragraphs act as cues by helping readers to anticipate what is coming before they read it. Within paragraphs, transitions tend to be single words or short phrases.

4. How to use them
Disjointed Sentence: We will be here for a few more hours so we can complete the remaining work. We are staying longer because we do not want to miss the Teachers Info conference taking place in a few days.
Revised with Transition: We will be here for a few more hours so we can complete the remaining work. Another reason why we are staying longer is because we do not want to miss the Teachers Info conference taking place in a few days.
In the first sentence, the two ideas are abruptly linked without a transition present to connect the two together. In the revised version, the sentences are linked by a transition to connect the two ideas for smoother flow, letting the reader understand the information as a whole.

Scotty P. has no ragrets.Therefore, he doesn't care what grade his presentation gets.
How to make a sandwich like a boss. First, ask someone to make you a sandwich. Next, when they say no you must go to the kitchen and get out the bread. Third, you add peanut butter and jelly ( not grape). Finally, you sit back down and enjoy the sandwich you worked so hard to make.

6. ACT Prep
Because Snow White was not the first animated feature, it is easily one of the most significant animated films ever made. Prior to Snow White, most animation was in the form of short, silly films that were presented prior to a live-action feature film. These shorts, though often colorful, inventive, and hilarious, were not considered to be serious fare. They were filler that took up time before the films people really wanted to see.
