3. Compound Inequality An inequality with multiple parts
If the inequality has the word “and” write it in one line with your variable inbetween – then when you graph it you shade in between the two points Ex: x>2 and x<5 is written 2<x<5 and graphed like this 2 5

4. If the inequality has the word “or” you write two inequalities and then when you graph it one ray goes left and the other goes right Ex: x<2 or x>5 2 5

5. 3x>-12 and 5x<10
3x>-12 or 5x<10

6. -3x>12 or 5x>10
-3x>12 and 5x>10

7. 22<-2x-6<50
