Welcome to term 2 respond to the following questions: What is rhythm in art (guess)? What is a silhouette (guess)? On your watercolor paper, devide into 8 even squares. Your paper should look similar to

4 Last Time We finished our 1 point perspective drawings
filled out the rubric and reflection than turned them in. If you were not here last time or you are not done, it is your responsibility to get the information and finish it outside of class.

5 Robert Longo Rhythm: The principle of design that refers to a regular repetition of elements of art to produce the look and feel of movement. It is often achieved through the careful placement of repeated components which invite the viewer's eye to jump rapidly or glide smoothly from one to the next.

6 Silhouette: Defined as an outline that appears dark against a light background. More specifically, it is where your subject is seen as a black shape without detail against a brighter background. I will give the students a brief description of their final project for this unit involving movement and silhouettes.

7 Quick Action Make sure you put some rubber cement in one of your squares before we go out to take photos

8 Movement Photographs Get in groups of 4-5 (or your table). Each group needs to have at least one camera phone to all the photos with. Make sure to get full body shots You can: dodge, catch, leap Intent: make it a series of three different movements I will briefly discuss what function to use on their cell phones (rapid burst) to catch the movement, and a brief instruction on framing.

10 Watercolor Stations You will need the following materials: Watercolor paper from the bell work Watercolor Experiment Document Form Pencil At each station: 1 minute to write your inferences -timed 5 minutes to experiment – timed 1 minute to write what actually happened – timed SWITCH STATIONS Once done put your watercolor paper that is wet onto the drying rack with your name on it.

11 Clean up Step 1 Clean all supplies at the table you are sitting at.
That means the brushes, watercolor trays, putting clean water in the cups, putting all supplies neatly back in the center of the table. Step 2 Clean the table that you are sitting at . That means using paper towels and cleaning and washing off any medium that is on the table. Step 3 Go to another table that has no people or less people and help clean that station also.
