2 “Expansion” It means: growing bigger It has a verb form:
“to expand” Ex. “Westward Expansion” is when the US took over more land in the west. The balloon is expanding

“Annexation” It means: Adding a new region to an existing country Also can be a verb: “to annex” Ex. Texas became a US state through annexation Map showing all the regions annexed by the United States

It means: Someone who moves to a new area, usually where there are not many people. It can be a verb: “To settle” (has many other meanings too) Ex. Many white settlers moved onto Native American land American settlers moving west

5 American Indian inhabitants
It means: Someone who lives in a certain place Can be a verb: “to inhabit” Ex. The Seminoles were the original inhabitants of Florida before white settlers moved in. American Indian inhabitants

6 American Indians being evicted
“To Evict” It means: To force someone to move out of their home. Can be a noun: “Eviction” Ex. Many Seminoles (Native Americans) were evicted from Florida in the 1800s American Indians being evicted
