5 Wizard of Oz VS Wicked

6 Wizard of Oz VS Wicked When a tornado rips through Kansas, Dorothy and her dog, Toto, are whisked away in their house to the magical land of Oz. They follow the Yellow Brick Road toward the Emerald City to meet the Wizard, and en route they meet a Scarecrow that needs a brain, a Tin Man missing a heart, and a Cowardly Lion who wants courage. The wizard asks the group to bring him the broom of the Wicked Witch of the West to earn his help. The musical is told from the perspective of the witches of the Land of Oz; its plot begins before and continues after Dorothy's arrival in Oz from Kansas. Wicked tells the story of two unlikely friends,Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the West) and Glinda, who struggle through opposing personalities and viewpoints, rivalry over the same love- interest, reactions to the Wizard's corrupt government, and, ultimately, Elphaba's public fall from grace.

List any story you know that changes perspectives or has an “evil” main character. Why are these types of stories gaining popularity?

8 Different Perspectives Text
